Letters from 1928-39, the author's depressed last years, to Seumas O'Sullivan (né James Sullivan Starkey, 1870-1958), Editor of The Dublin Review. "At present," he writes in 1938, "I have no money - not even to get my clothes repaired." Alan Anderson regrets in his introduction that no portrait of Vincent O'Sullivan has survived (Robert Scoble has since tracked down a school photograph from Oscott), but, "A description of his physical appearance was given to me in a letter from Nathalie Clifford Barney: '. . . I never saw anything of the bohemian about him, for he was always neat and well dressed, and although often in distress, I saw no sign of it in either his appearance or conversation . . . he was tall, slight, his eyes were light, he wore a little mustache over a thin-lipped mouth that rarely smiled, although he had a very good sense of humour.
