Much of the plot focuses on the struggle between Katharine and Cromwell.'The Fifth Queen' published in 1906, 'Privy Seal' published in 1907, and 'The Fifth Queen Crowned' published in 1908.By Ford Madox Ford, an important novelist best known for this trilogy and 'The Good Soldier' and the 'Parade's End' tetralogy.Ten pages of adverts to the rear of Volume I, four pages of adverts to the rear of Volume II, and thirty-eight pages of adverts to the rear of Volume III.Bookplate of Hamilton Davies to the front paste down of Volume I. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Some light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Spine and front board of 'Privy Seal' is faded. A few light marks to the boards and spines. Front hinge of 'The Fifth Queen' is a little strained. Front hinge of 'The Fifth Queen Crowned' is a little faded. Bookplate to the front paste down of Volume I, W. H. Smith Library label to the front paste down of Volume III and ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean with some spots. Good. Seller Inventory # 816P6
