A scarce, first edition of this exploration of sport in Scotland from 1880-1932, written by The Duke of Portland, surrounding his own experiences. The first edition. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Written by The Duke of Portland, or William John James Cavendish Bentinck, a British landowner and politician, also known as the 6th Duke of Portland. Born in Perthshire, Scotland, Bentinck presents his experiences of more than fifty years of spot in Scotland, from 1880 to 1932. Providing charming accounts of the Duke's time spent deerstalking, salmon fishing and grouse shooting between 1880 and 1932, this work is illustrated with a frontispiece, two folding maps, and thirty-five illustrated and photographic plates. Collated, complete. Ink inscription to the front blank. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, smart, with light rubbing to joints and extremities. A little bumping to the extremities and the odd mark to cloth. Front hinge is a little strained, but holding firm. Light spotting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with the occasional area of light spotting. Ink inscription to front blank. Very Good.…
