Item description from seller

240pp, more than 250 colour and b/w photos, six appendices: Glossary of fighter terms; Operation codenames; Main Fighter Command aircraft types; Aircraft types operated by Fighter Command, ADGB and 2TAF Squadrons, Fighter Command Order of Battle, Fighter Command, ADGB and 2TAF airfields, 1939-45, index. Spine cocked. Cloth boards in dust-jacket which has a faded spine. A small possible biro point indentation in the jacket (paper not broken) also affects the rear board. The author interviewed many of the last surviving veterans of the Battle of Britain. His analysis of Fighter Command operations is supported by their eyewitness testimony. He investigates the mythology that has grown up around 'the few', separating fact from fiction. Size: 4to.
