Reviews
Copyright 1991 Reed Business Information, Inc.
In this expose of the dangers of commercial flight, Barlay arrives at a grim and inevitable conclusion: airline disasters tend to repeat themselves. His premise is that there are never any "new" accidents--airlines just do not learn from past experiences with weather, human error, mechanical problems, aging aircraft, icing, sabotage, and other factors. Most airline tragedies are not accidents but rather the result of ignorance, forgetfulness, and indifference. This is an unsettling indictment that blames the airline industry for not making itself safer, that criticizes the crash investigators for failing to enforce safety rules, and that faults the flying public for not demanding better safety standards.

Store description
Rare Reads formerly operated a storefront in The Lakewood Antiques Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia but reverted to a strictly online operation when the Gallery closed. In 2006, Rare Reads published "The Heeey Baby Days of Beach Music" which received a bronze medal from The Independent Publishers Association. Long sold out, copies of the 13 pound tribute to the musicians who created the unique R&B genre are occasionally available on ABE. The book was a collaborative effort of Rare Reads and many others including the musicians that created the sound Southerns term "Beach Music." Rare Reads is considering future publications in addition to expanding its online enterprise. Rare Reads is operated by Greg Haynes and son Reid Haynes and has warehouses in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia.…
