Laura Riding died in 1991 at the age of 90. She published The Poems of Laura Riding in 1938 and then renounced poetry. That volume omitted about 200 of her poems all written before 1926, those poems lost until 1979. Riding eventually gave her permission for them to be published in this book. Covers clean and bright. Head of spine very gently bumped. Corners sharp. Page edges clean. Binding strong and tight. Publishers Weekly review of First Awakenings laid inside. No previous owner marks. Text clean.
