Drawing on the archives of Imperial War Museums, Terry Charman presents a Lively and evocative portrait of life on the Home Front in the First World War. Filled with absorbing first-hand accounts newly researched from diaries, letters and newspaper reports, his book reveals in vivid and immensely personal detail how life changed in Britain between 1914 and 1918. Illustrated. The front board has an indent to the bottom edge, but is otherwise along with the binding and text block square, tight and crisp, the dust jacket has a a minor faint stain to the base of the front panel. About the Author
Terry Charman is the Senior Historian at the Imperial War Museum, where he has worked since 1974. He is a frequent lecturer on World War I and II, and is the author of The German Home Front 1939-45 and Outbreak: The World Goes to War. He has also acted as a consultant on films and TV and radio documentaries and programs, such as Foyle's War and Schindler's List.
