A Very Good copy!The red hardcover has one rubbed corner and a bit of wear to the head of the spine. Unmarked and tight with 246 bright pages.Between page 23 and 24 laid in is the original Scribner's Bookstore receipt for $2,95 (book cover price) which has left an age-toned ghost on those pages. He continued to go on mountain climbing expeditions and challenging treks throughout his long life: In 1935 , he made his first expedition to the Sahara with Captain Raymond Coche. The expedition made the first ascent of the Garet El Djenoun (Mountain of Genii). In 1937 he crossed the Grand Erg Occidental with Albert Plossu on a camel. a rare copy in such nice unmarked condition Not price-clipped.
