Their heroic feasts were eventually made into the 1968 film "The Devil's Brigade". starring Cliff Robertson, William Holden, and other film stars. Book is in near as-published condition Solid binding. [Military references: Enser p.440, Cooke (2) p.156) . Small unobtrusive corner tear on page picturing Maj Gen Robert Frederiick. Original publication corner fold page (xi) "Introduction" (text unaffected) neated cut to book text body. Page 312 has memorial ink mark honoring S.L.Rader (KIA Sept 1944). Apparently this copy was owned by a member or family of someone in it and the mark indicates who the remembered soldier was. Final white endpaper has date July 17, 1953.
