First Edition Two Volume Set in Half brown Calf (Leather) Bindings over marbled boards with black moroccan title labels to spine lettered in gilt on the 2nd compartment to spine on each volume with further scrolled designs stamped in blind to the other spine sections.Plain endpapers with previous owner's name to front pastedown and date in the front endpaper to Volume II.Both bindings are firm with NO hinge weaknesses.This is a Handsome set with some plates a little stained to their backs,some scattered foxing a couple of plates have ink marks,one small closed tear to the edge of page 4 to Volume One.The Author Henry Cholmondeley-Pennell wrote several important Angling titles including 'The Angler-Naturalist in 1863.This is a Two Volume set beginning April 1864 and finishing with October in 1865.Well Illustrated throughout with 11 colour plates throughout and with numerous b&w illustrations and drawings mostly set within and around the text.Some plates are full page in scale.Volume Two has marbled page edges and there is tape applied to the front hinge join (no weakness apparent) 8vo Volume One (vi) includes List of Illustrations 432pp and Volume Two (vi) List of illustrations 479pp First Editions.
