In the first book in the seasons series, Haig-Brown ranges far and wide over the fly fisherman's spring, with chapters on the art of fishing, the unexpected fish, the fish by the cedar stump, the secret life, Charles Cotton, etc. Harold Ober Associates (Haig-Brown's literary agent) reported 3,616 copies sold, with the book going out of print in 1966. The book is bound in green cloth with black titles. Pictorial dust jacket. A nice book. Very good in a very good dust jacket with light edge wear.
