The text gives background details of arms of service, individual units and command appointments, and these too are supported with over 80 photographs specifically chosen to empasize the nature of the units, show the portraits of important leaders, and provide a valuable photographic coverage of the subject. Precise details and specifications of each of the flags and standards are given. The distinctive accoutrements used and worn by members of the German armed forces appointed to carry those colors are also described and illustrated.
