A first edition piece of children's adventure fiction, illustrated and complete with a colourful dust wrapper. This work is from the David Flame series of the 1950s. Similar to the Biggles series, it was a popular series, with numerous works including 'Flame, Secret Agent', 'Flame hits the Trail', 'Flame of the Sahara' and 'Flame sets the Pace'.Written by Eric Leyland, an author best known for his boy's stories and mysteries, as well as girls' school stories published under female pseudonyms. His other works include 'The Cricket Week Mystery, 'Stop Thief' and 'Mystery of Pig's Nose'.A first edition.Complete with a clipped dust wrapper.Illustrated by Maben. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with a clipped dust wrapper. Externally generally smart, with a little discolouration to the head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper has a large chip to the head of the front joint, as well as the tail. The head and tail of the spine is bumped resulting in slight loss, with otherwise just some general wear, and an ownership inscription to the front flap. Internally, firmly bound.
