The Flight

"The Flight" by Ruth Stephan. Published in 1956. First Edition. "This distinguised and unusual novel belongs in the highest category of historical fiction. It tells the stroy of Queen Christina of Sweden, the puzzling and tantalizing daugther of the great Gustav Adolf. Living in the atmosphere of militant Lutheranism, Christina nevertheless turned Catholic. She abdicated after 10 years of rule, and spent the balance of her life in Rome, a convert cherished by the Pope. Her conversion, which is the climax of this novel, is one of the greatest psychological mysteries of history." Book is in Very Good condition.
