San Francisco, CA: Paul Elder and Company, 1917. First Edition. 12mo (14cm); publisher's red pictorial cloth stamped in gilt; x,100pp.; author portrait frontispiece. Ex-Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences with their attractive ex libris to upper cover and occasional rubberstamps dated 1932 throughout textblock, additional Library of Congress surplus rubberstamp to front free endpaper; still a Very Good, bright and sound example overall. Uncommon little World War I-era manual with short chapters on "grass-cutting," "hopping," the figure eight, "Volpiqueing and Volplaning," and concluding with a glossary of aviation terms.
