This is a Near Fine copy of the First American Edition. Translated from the original Japanese by Alfred H. Marks. Green cloth binding with gilt decoration in Japanese on the front cover; titling in gilt and turquoise on the spine. Clean text; 403 pages. Very bright and fresh. Previous-owner bookplate on the FFEP, else a Fine copy. The dustjacket, with its modernist design by Joseph del Gaudio, is unclipped; it shows some edgewear (wrinkling) at the margins of the spine and some light fading on the spine. Other than that, close to Fine; in an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 004230
