Synopsis
How is a man made? Men--all People, are born into the world like a shapeless lump of molten steel, dropped onto the anvil of existence. From that moment on, everything that happens both good and bad is like a hammer blow on that piece of red hot steel, shaping it into what it will become. This is what the author calls: The Forge Of Life. Forging A Man is an account of some of these hammer blows that the author experienced. A candid, authentic, sometimes gritty collection of true tales from his own life. The stories vary widely; some will delight and inspire, others will make you laugh, still others might make you cry, but they will all entertain you and make you think…and thinking is critical to forward movement. Each story in this book includes the lessons learned from that story. As you read along, you might remember when you learned that same lesson…or, you may be inspired to learn it for the first time.
About the Author
Alf Herigstad has loved writing since he was a child. Since then he has authored hundreds of poems and stories, just for fun. He had a love for the written word and enjoyed being able to invoke emotion and inspire thought in others. Later, he wrote professionally for a time in the Army and used his passion for writing in many of his entrepreneurial ventures. In 2012, Alf became a contestant on a popular Norwegian Reality show called 'Alt For Norge, ' it was a life-changing experience in many ways. Upon returning to America he wrote his first book, an account of his adventures based on the journal he kept in Norway. A revision of that book will be available soon in paperback and digitally. Its a behind the scenes look at being on a reality show in a different country, what its like to be embraced by a nation, and the experience of being 're-booted' to your factory settings. Alf has done a lot of things in the past five decades; He isn't just a minor celebrity in Norway, he has been a boxer, a boxing gym owner / trainer, a construction contractor, an Ostrich farmer, a long-haul truck driver and worked in several other industries such as real estate and fitness. Alf is currently the creator and host of the popular podcast, 'Being A Better Man.' A program that is focused exclusively on the character of men of all ages.
