Actor Jim Backus tells the story of his long show business career, with asides from Henny, his wife of 45 years. The title is apt, as the book at times seems to be more digression than autobiography, but Backus is a skillful, amusing raconteur. From early days as a stage actor and radio announcer, Backus went on to both film and television. Best known for the TV series I Married Joan and Gilligan's Island (neither a high point in his career), Backus has pithy comments about many of his friends and co-workers.
