Very first book in the short-lived Dig Allen series, which only published 6 titles, 1959-1962, by the author of the acclaimed Tom Corbett series. Both sought to tap into the growing interest in space exploration among an American youth fired up by their young president J. F. Kennedy. This would become Book #201 in Golden Press' larger stable of series books for young boys & girls published 1950s-1960s, with orig. $1.00 price intact to front flap.
