Stated second printing from 1960, originally published in 1959. Signature of Jason Betzinez appears on the half-title page, but given his age at the time of publication (100) and the perfect repetition across different copies, it is likely a facsimile. Peach colored cloth boards with illustration on cover and brown lettering on spine. Some rubbing and wear to edges; minor bumping to corners and fore-edge. Mild soiling to edges of text block. Illustrated dust jacket with white lettering over orange spine. Jacket is wrapped in mylar and is not price clipped. Significant chipping to edges; slight creasing; moderate wear along folds; some scratching; pen mark on cover. Tight binding and clean interior. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photos and drawings by J. Franklin Whitman Jr. Map design on endpapers. Jason Betzinez (1860-1960) was a cousin of Geronimo who joined the Apache chief on the warpath. This autobiography recounts numerous raids and battles, escape from the reservation in Arizona, and time at the Carlisle Indian School. ; B&W Photographs & Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 214 pp. Seller Inventory # 025090
