First Edition. 8vo, 43pp; printed wrappers. A short retrospective collection of earlier poems from out-of-print publications, arranged in a reverse chronology with a brief foreword by Zukofsky. This is a nice association copy, inscribed on the inside front wrapper by Zukofsky to the poet Frank Samperi and his family, with a small handwritten note neatly taped in below the inscription, reading in part: ". . . one of the quotations I value most in Bottom is from Chekov [sic] - 'when I philosophize I lie terribly.' Enough said if you want melody to survive . . ." A used copy, showing age toning and general soil. Seller Inventory # 206698
