First edition of C. S. Lewis's classic study of love in its four forms — affection, friendship, eros, and charity — developed from his 1958 radio talks, which drew controversy in America for their candour on sexual love. Grey cloth boards with red lettering to spine. Boards clean and square, binding tight and secure, text block clean and unmarked with only light, expected age-toning to the page edges. Previous ownership inscription and stamp. Housed in the original unclipped dust jacket, bright and complete, showing only minor edge wear consistent with careful handling over more than sixty years. A pleasing, well-preserved copy of an important and much-loved work by Lewis. Please see photographs for full condition detail. Free postage within the U.K.
