First edition decorated American trade binding - green cloth boards with silver, green and brown wildlife decoration on cover, brown lettering on cover; silver lettering on spine with dark brown lynx head. A little fading to lower board edges. Light surface wear to spine ends, no fraying. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Pages and edges are clean with clean endpapers (tasteful previous owner bookplate on front fixed endpaper). Wonderful illustrations throughout by Ernest Seton Thompson. 432 pages with Index.
