Stiff pictorial tan wrappers. 4to. 95pp. 1 of 500 copies printed. With both contemporary and historical texts, documents, images and a commentary, the artist Dread Scott focuses on the most notable aspects of slavery in America beginning with its institutionalization within the Constitution. Following this, he walks us through the history of slave auctions, plantation culture, slave rebellions, the Dred Scott legal decision, the Civil War, as well as a critical analysis and mass media representation of this history. A very good copy with some light soiling and wear to the wrappers. The text is very good and clean.
