First edition hardcover, published by Alfred A. Knopf, 1950. Part of the long running series of humorous stories about the adventures of Freddy the pig. Illustrated by Kurt Wiese. No dust jacket. 233 pages, 5-1/2" X 8". Red cloth covered boards with illustrated cover. Tips of the corners are slightly bumped in, lower corners are worn and the ends are exposed. Slight fading to the spine panel, though all lettering is entirely intact and legible. Stain spots on both the front and back cover boards. Illustrated endpapers as well as several illustrations through the book. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Not a library discard. Binding is tight.
