Orange limp cloth boards lettered in black to front and spine, with the standard legend "Not for sale to the public" on the front cover. Printed in Great Britain by The Camelot Press, London and Southampton. 8vo, 285 pp. Condition: Good. Covers show general rubbing and handling, small corner nicks, and noticeable sunning to the spine; spine ends a little frayed. Rear board with a few light stains. Text block edges toned. Endpapers with scattered foxing; faint foxing to early and late leaves. Writing on some pages; old penciled price to the front endpaper. No dust jacket as issued for the Left Book Club binding. Sound, readable copy of the original club issue. ---. The Left Book Club edition was the first appearance of this title; a separate public hardcover issue by Gollancz followed in 1937.
