Stated first Modern Library edition, February 1968. A presentation of the famous writings of John Froissart, a Frenchman who spent much time in England in the Court of Edward III. Eyewitnessing many historic events from 1326 to 1400, he was able to chronicle the battles and court intrigues of the first part of the Hundred Years War, including the notable battles of Crécy and Poitiers, as well as the exploits of England's Black Prince, events in Scotland, and, per the jacket flap, "King Edward's love for Lady Salisbury."
