Laid in is a "Tip Schedule, 15% and 20%", which on the front reads, "Take a tip from Kinsey. Read Sue Grafton's 'F' IS FOR FUGITIVE". This stated first edition includes a "1" in the numberline. A Kinsey Millhone Mystery, boards are a two-toned light copper paper and dark navy blue publisher's cloth. Cover is plain with copper foil lettering on the spine. Illustrated dust jacket depicts an empty phone both at twilight with red, black and white lettering.
