This copy is Very Good in a Very Good dust jacket. The two-tone tan and white boards are clean, square, and bright, with gilt spine lettering intact. Interior is crisp and unmarked aside from a warm 1991 gift inscription on the front free endpaper. Pages are clean with light age toning at the margins. The dust jacket remains bright and glossy with just minor edge wear and a short closed tear near the spine head; small spot of toning to the verso. A solid and attractive example of this foundational modern sailing text, still widely referenced by instructors and enthusiasts. Stephen Colgate (b. 1935) is an American yachtsman, sailing instructor, and author, best known as the founder of the Offshore Sailing School (est. 1964). A veteran of Olympic campaigns, America's Cup trials, and multiple transatlantic races, Colgate developed a structured approach to sailing education that remains a standard today.
