First (only) edition. Pictures by Florence Wyman. Seven leaves, two months on each after title leaf, string-bound through holes at top. The same firm published in 1904 The Fusser's Book, by the same set of authors and illustrator. There are no listings for this calendar in WorldCat. Florence Wyman Ivins was the first woman artist to have a solo show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in 1921. She grew up in France and studied at the Art Students League. Around 1910 she married William Ivins, curator of prints at the MMA. Wyman Ivins illustrated several books in the nineteen twenties. This appears, then, to be her first published work. The turn-of-the-century figures in the illustrations are redolent of the social world of Edith Wharton. A fusser was then current collegiate slang for a male who liked to play the field. Here it seems to be applied to flirting by both sexes, with rules for both in turn. Seller Inventory # 5136
