Grade 6-8 The U.S. Space Camp takes fifth to tenth graders, outfits them in NASA-style clothing, and teaches them how to use NASA equipment. Like the camp itself, this book provides a pleasant mixture of fantasy and reality, juxtaposing simulated astronaut training and a space mission with plenty of specific, clearly-presented information about the U.S. space program and the technology developed for it. In the many large, bright color photographs it's sometimes difficult to tell who are the real astronauts. The book opens and closes with chapters on the history and future of rockets and space travel.
