Green cloth boards with gilt titles and blind blocked decoration, 210 x 145 mm approx. xii + 276 ppColour frontis, 11 other colour plates and 96 monochrome plates all as called for. First Edition 1912. The author, a noted gardener of his day was one time Editor of "The Gardener" Magazine and was a prolific writer of gardening books. Fair/ Fair (Book- uneven fading to cloth, tears to head where roughly pulled from the bookshelf, top edge dust soiled, ink previous owner name to front paste down. Occassional mild to moderate foxing to text block throughout, rear end paper cracked, mull holding. Dust Jacket - heavy shelf rubbing with loss, flap folds fragile at hinges with some splitting. repaired to reverse by a previous owner.
