Jane S. Fancher did this graphic adaptation: pencils, inks, lettering, scripting, coloring, et al. She took to writing her own novels after that, sold three books to Warner and 3 more to DAW.

C.J. Cherryh has about 50 novels out, has won numerous awards in the sf and fantasy fields, and drew a couple of panels and the cat in this graphic adaptation of her work.
