Text in Spanish, with selected translations in English at rear. Gerardo Rueda is a painter and sculptor related to the history of the Spanish abstract painting of the 20th century. He founded the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art of Cuenca along with Fernando Zóbel and Gustavo Torner. During his years of activity, Rueda worked on cubism, though he evolved with time towards a constructivist abstraction where paintings characterise by order and balance. Throughout his career, he has made uncountable individual and collective exhibitions, both at a national and international level, and his work is currently spread out in remarkable museums, galleries and art collections.
