About this Item
Hardcover first edition - First printing. The first book by Landolfi to be published in the United States, a collection of stories written over a period of 25 years. Gandolfi has been called the Italian Kafka, linked with the surrealists, compared to Borges - but his remains a unique voice, imaginative and ironic. Translated from the Italian by Raymond Rosenthal, John Longrigg & Wayland Young. 183 pp. Ex-library but with only one stamp on the rear endpaper and slight signs of a pocket having been removed, so overall a tight and clean copy in a near fine and unmarked dustjacket. Uncommon in the hardcover first edition. Seller Inventory # 31029
