First Edition, this copy with good Provenance being ex-libris of A. & C. Black art editor and illustrator Gordon Home and with a four-page autograph letter from the author to him mounted inside the rear cover. With 58 black and white illustrations on plates, mostly from photographs, and several illustrations within the text. 8vo, publisher's dark blue cloth decorated on the upper cover with an Ionian vista seen through Doric columns in light blue, green, and black and with gilt lettering, the spine likewise decorated in the same motif and gilt lettered, t.e.g. xx, 263pp. A very good and attractive copy, internally quite fine with no spotting or stains, sturdy and tight with strong hinges, the blue cloth attractive with only a touch of wear though sunned at the spine to a uniform olive. FIRST EDITION, WITH A 1912 FOUR PAGE AUTOGRAPH LETTER INCLUDED. Mrs. Barrington's well received narrative of a trip from Italy to Athens, around Greece and up the Dalmatian Coast and back to Venice.
