Prima edizione. Opera dedicata a Antonio Lucchesi Palli. Cm.16,8x10,3. Pg.304. Legatura coeva, lievemente allentata, in mz.pelle con piatti marmorizzati. Tassello con titoli e fregi in oro al dorso. Ritratto dell'autore inciso all'antiporta da Antonio e Raffaello Morghen, da disegno di Luca Costanza. Marca calcografica al frontespizio, con aquila assisa sullo stemma della Trinacria e indicazione dello stampatore. Ricco apparato iconografico, costituito da nove tavole fuori testo, sei delle quali a piena pagina, raffiguranti "Scena del teatro di Taormina", "Avanzi del Tempio di Giove Olimpico esistenti nell'anno 1770 vicino la nuova Siracusa in Sicilia", "Tempio della Concordia a Girgenti in Sicilia", "Tempio di Segesta in Sicilia", "Veduta interna della Nave, grande, che guarda Tramontana del Teatro di Tindari", "Veduta della parte interna della Nave maggiore che guarda Ponente con suoi Rialti, e Pilastri del Ginnasio di Tindari". Le rimanenti tre incisioni sono in grande formato, ripiegate, e raffigurano "Veduta da Catania dell'eruzione del 1787 la notte dei 18 Luglio" (impressa in sanguigna, incisa da Antonio Zacco da bozzetto di Nicolò Bombara), "Carta di Siracusa" e in fine una "Carta di Sicilia" incisa da Antonio Di Bella, leggermente strappata, in formato orizzontale cm.30x38. Non comune edizione originale di una ricercata guida ottocentesca della Sicilia, opera dell'abate Francesco Ferrara (Trecastagne di Catania, 1767-1850), che fu Intendente delle Antichità di Sicilia e docente negli atenei catanese e palermitano.
