Colin Maggs has written over 60 books about railways, including the GWR Bristol to Bath Line (the companion volume to this book), and and countless magazine articles, he has also made a number of TV and radio appearances. He has an unrivalled knowledge of railways within 80 miles of his home in Bath. In 1993 he received the MBE for services to Railway history.
