A first edition, first impression of this richly illustrated study of the influence of field sports on the English landscape and on art. The first edition, first impression of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with 151 illustrations, mostly in colour. Collated, complete. An exploration of how field sports has shaped the beauty of the English countryside, and influenced sporting art, over the centuries. This work was written by the Chairman and Director of the Game Conservancy, Anthony Vandervell and Charles Coles respectively, with a foreword by the Duke of Wellington. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Dust wrapper remains very bright and smart, with a couple of small closed tears to the lower extremities of the wrap. Fine.
