Add to basketFirst trade edition (after the privately issued suppressed edition) of Carroll's book on mathematical logic. The book describes, in an informal and playful style, the use of a board game to represent logical propositions and inferences. Carroll incorporated the game into a longer and more formal introductory logic textbook titled Symbolic Logic, published in 1897. Finely bound by Riviere in 3/4 red morocco, with the scarce game board and tiles bound in. The original red cloth (front and back) and spine have been retained and are bound in separate pages at the end.
London: Macmillan and Co., 1887. Bound by Riviere in 3/4 red morocco, 5 raised bands to spine, lettered and ruled in gilt, marbled endpapers; pp. (xiii), 96. About near fine. Minor shelfwear and boards, heel joint just starting. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown, else internally quite clean and fine.
