A Game Ranger on Safari

A. Blayney Percival was a prominent safari guide and ranger in Kenya in the early 20th century. This is the scarcer of his two books, and as in his first book, 'A Game Ranger's Note Book' (1924), he includes plenty of hunting episodes after lions, rhinoceroses, buffalo, and scores of antelope. Ref. CZECH p. 217-218; HAND P117; RILING 2039. Bound in burgundy red cloth over boards with spine titled and ruled in gilt, upper board titled and ruled in blind. Minor foxing to textblock edges, minor extremity bumps, a touch of fading to spine, and a faint bit of staining cloth top of upper board. Prior owner gift inscription pencilled on front pastedown. Some pages roughly opened. A bit of light foxing to preliminary leaves. Very good overall. A handsome copy of this big game hunting classic, protected in a custom Mylar jacket.
