Quarto, [vi], 35 pages printed in red and black, with numerous line illustrations, a hand-coloured frontispiece and 7 full-page monochrome linocuts (all by Roderick Shaw). Original colour-printed floral-pattern cloth with a large pictorial two-colour paper title-label on the front cover, all edges uncut; spine a little tanned; occasional faint offsetting from the linocuts; a few trifling signs of use; an excellent copy. A collection of stories for children, told from the perspective of a young girl, Juditheden. The exuberant design of the book matches its eccentric prose style. One of only 600 copies of the first book (and the only children's book) published by the Barn on the Hill Press; the first 50 copies were signed by the author, artist, and printer. Muir 1054.
