About this Item
O'Grady (1846-1928) occupies an interesting place in Irish literary history. A Protestant and a Unionist, he was nontheless a strong influence within the nationalistic"Celtic Revival." Yeats and Lady Gregory were admirers. His works are fairly scarce today. This is a Near Fine copy of (possibly) the First American Edition. It is undated, but Talbot brought out an edition in 1920, and this is noted as printed by them in Dublin; perhaps the Irish sheets were shipped over across the Pond. Maroon cloth binding titled in gilt on the spine and front coveri. Clean text; xiii, 180 pages, with a frontis illustration by P. Touhy. Very light bumps/rub at the margins. A superior copy. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 005588
