Original photo-illustrated dust-jackets over tan cloth, with red, black, silver, and grey lettering to spines and front covers. Complete 4-volume set are compilations of material originally published in the architectural magazine "Kokusai Kenchiku", to commemorate its 10th anniversary. The magazine was described as the "bible" for architects and students in Japan from the 1930s-50s, as it introduced new works by young Japanese architects, and presented the latest design styles of the era to a Japanese audience. The first part of each volume deals with Japanese architects and their works, while the second part focuses on International residential architecture (United Kingdom, United States, Italy, China, Hungary, Belgium, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Finland, Sweden, Mexico, India, and Palestine).
