xi+ 194p. Illustrated. A rare family history of the Smithson families, printed for Private Circulation. The original first edition in hardback with d/w. Particular reference to the Smithson families of Newsham and of Cumberland, Caldbeck, Gatherley and Moulton with accounts of the descendants of William Smithson of Newsham and William Burbank, Archdeacon of Carlisle. There are to folding pedigrees in a folder on the rear board. The book is n VG condition in a firm binding with a gift note on the fore title. There is periodic foxing. The original d/w now protected, has some edge tears but is complete. Rare. Loosely inserted is a photograph of a painted portrait. Unnamed. See scans and email for several more.
