With raised bands and finely-tooled devices and lettering in the spine compartments. With exquisite full-size red morocco doublures with gorgeous gilt-stamped sprigs of roses with thorns on the front and rear paste-downs; with blue moire silk endpapers. This splendid binding is likely by Stikeman as it compares exactly to another volume I have. All edges are gilded, all original tissue-guards (protecting the brightly-colored "coat of-arms" plates) are intact. A remarkable volume, a work of bookbinding art.
