This rare illustrated text is the true first edition. The author, renowned chemist and peace activist Linus Pauling, won the Nobel Prize-twice--for chemistry in 1954 and for peace activism in 1962. He is even better known today as the source behind the practice of taking vitamin C to ward off infections, although some people question the dosage levels he suggested.
