Brown cloth boards with front blind stamped and decorated with six points stars along with the author's monogram. Near yellow end pages contain no handwriting or bookplates though faint damp staining is noted. Binding is strong, no hinge cracks, no torn or loose pages. First edition thus with the copyright and title page is both stating 1860 and the correct publisher. Almost no foxing is present though pages are toned. Exterior boards show edge and corner wear and spine is split about 50% at the top left edge of the front board.
