About this Item
Very good, first edition book in very good dust jacket. Black cloth covered boards with gilt stamped dragon illustration, lettering and author's trademark on front panel; gilt lettering, exotic illustration, and graphics on spine; publisher's logo on back panel. A few very minimal scuffs on board panels, spine is somewhat faded. Edges at head and tail of board spine are crimped and with tiny vertical creases; two tiny vertical tears along edge at head of spine. External text edges are age-darkened, soiled and with some foxing. Side and lower edges are untrimmed. Board panels are a bit splayed. Pp. 187-190 have crescent-shaped loss of 1 1/4" by 3/4" in the lower corners along the spine. Foxing and shadow transfers on end papers and blank pages at front and back. Minimal internal foxing to text pages, a bit along outer margins or along gutters. Light age-toning to text pages. Many text pages are unopened at the bottom edges, a couple unopened on the upper edges. Spine is cracked at pp. 118-119 and 198-199; In spite of that the text block is sound. Fragile dust jacket is lightly soiled overall, and sunned to various degrees, heavier on the edges and fore-edge folds and very heavy on the spine. All folds are scuffed; fore-edge folds are heavily creased and rubbed-through in several places on the back fore-edge fold. Edges at head and tail of jacket spine are chipped across the width up to 1/8"; closed tears or loss from rubs of up to 1/4" on the corners. All fore-edge corners have loss of 1/4"-3/8". Several small chips along upper edges; shallow horizontal creasing along upper- and lower-most edges. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description. Additional photos available at your request. International sales to all countries other than the UK will require use of an alternative shipping company which will result in higher shipping expense. A signature upon receipt may also be required. Seller Inventory # ABE-1612469445634
