First edn, 2 vols, London, Van Voorst, 1844. 8vo, xxiv, 506p; xvi, 572p. Attractive engravings in text. Slight wear to edges, neat inscr on both titles. Original gilt decorative full-morocco boards neatly rebacked, spine gilt in compartments, marbled endpapers and edges. Near fine attractive set. Not in Challinor. Ansted was an English professor of geology and author of numerous books on geology.
